Queen On The Scene

Well it's finally starting to feel like spring here - the sun is shining, the snow is melting and it's getting into plus temperatures.  Seems about the perfect time to share a wonderful summery image with you!

I was originally going to make this into a layered card, but I changed my mind to create myself a framed scene for my art wall.  This allowed for some overhang with the honeycomb.

'Aja Queen Bee' is a brand new image this month - isn't she gorgeous?  I love those bold sunflowers. I fussy-cut her after colouring so I could pop her up onto my scene.

I started with a rectangle of blue card to represent the sky.  This is cut to 5.5" x 6" as this is the size of card blank I was going to use.

Next I cut two layers of clouds, measuring to the height I wanted from the bottom of the blue card.

I cut two layers of hills also.
Next I glued everything on in layer order to create my scene.
I decided I wanted quite a natural frame, so I cut a Kraft piece the same size as the blue card and cut a rectangle out of the centre ¼" in each side. I used strips of card underneath this to match all the layers so it would lay flat over the scene.

I cut a honeycomb shape and positioned it at an angle in the bottom left corner, overhanging the edges.  I used 3D foam squares to place the image on top of this.

Lastly I added some glittery bee stickers to complete my scene and some ribbon to hang it up.

You can find this image, along with many others in the Etsy Store

We would love to see your creations in our Facebook Community, so please join in the fun.
