Happy Mer-May from Arielle and her Seahorse

Good morning and Happy Mer-May! I love that May has been dubbed Mer-May as it is the perfect excuse to colour up all the cute mermaids that Amanda has in the store! My card today shares one of the newer released images - Arielle & the Seahorse. Isn't she just gorgeous. I just love her hair! Not sure if you can tell in the photos, but instead of colouring in the highlights with a lighter shade of aqua, I used a light shade of the purple to tie it in with the purple plaits running through her hair and it makes such a difference!

You can find her here in the store.

I will admit that I actually forgot to colour the sea, so when I came to put my card together, I decided rather than hauling all my Copics back out of their holdall (I have one of those big black Copic bags that they used to sell), I would try something slightly different and used my chalks with my waves stencil and it kind of worked! I've never used chalks with a stencil before so not too bad for the first try!
