One Day Fae - Pirate Dreams Mermaid

Hiya!
Cass here today with my inspiration post.
Today I'm using the April One Day Fae called Pirate Dreams Mermaid. Did you manage to grab her when she was free? If not she's available to buy in the Faery Ink Shop
I took my inspiration for colouring her tail from a gorgeous card I had seen by Amy Young in this POST. She had coloured a mermaid's tail to look like a koi/shubunkin so I thought I'd give it a try. I really did enjoy trying it. Once I had coloured it I gave it a coat of clear Wink Of Stella for a lovely sparkle!
I decided to carry the orange shades and black  into my patterned papers. I got these fabulous papers from an Etsy store called KaramfilaS
They were just exactly what I was looking for.
After I had coloured the image I coloured the background in an old map colour and cut it out with my Spellbinders Dies which give a torn look. I added a red X and some dashes to look like a treasure map.

I added some twine to look like rope on the anchor die cut and also used a knotted rope die cut that I had. I added some black stamens to my pale orange flowers to tie in with the paper, and added some huge tropical leaves.
To finish off I cut out the Ahoy x3 and glued them together to give some depth.

I love the orange and black together!

We'd love to see what you make on our Faery Ink Facebook Group.
Please pop by and share your projects.
