Steampunkin' Under The Sea

We are getting into Mer-May now so I am here today to show off a brand new image 'Steampunk Mermaid Destiny'.

I wasn't entirely sure what I was going to make when I coloured up this image.  Being an underwater Steampunk theme though, I knew I wanted a particular colour palette.

Once I decided I would do a picture rather than I card, I got my canvas inked up with Distress Inks and Oxides and sprayed with water.

To enhance the Stempunk theme and my colours, I used bronze card to die cut cogs, shells and some foliage then glued all to the canvas.

I knew I wanted my scene to look like it was underwater, so I braved covering the whole thing in clear gloss texture paste.  Thankfully none of the ink on the image smeared and I was very pleased with the results.

You can grab this and plenty of other gorgeous mermaids over in the Etsy store.

Please come over to the Faery Ink Facebook Community to share your wonderful creations with any of the Faery Ink images.
