Quilted Paper Card with Chibi Fae Wee

Good morning everyone. I hope you have all been keeping safe and well. Amanda has some gorgeous new releases for you this month over at Faery Ink and I got to play with this adorable Chibi Fae Wee! Isn't she just the cutest?

I decided to make her into a ladybird (or ladybug if you prefer. We say ladybird here in the UK) and went with a red and black colour scheme. As I am getting very low on red and black patterned papers that are not Valentine's themed, I decided to make a quilted paper background.

This is a great way to use up scraps of patterned papers and adds a fun background at the same time. All I did was cut a piece of cheap white card for the layer and then cut lots of strips of paper just over 1/2 inch wide. I draw some lines on the paper to section it up and then glued my strips on, trimming round the edges when I was done. To finish I added some thin strips of black card on the lines for each section to make them stand out even more.

I really enjoyed this technique and one I will be using again to get rid of my mountain of patterned papers. I will be buying some more red papers though!

You can read more about this card and the Copic combos I used over on my blog if you want to pop on over!
